LABUAN: June 26, 2026 – Flight operations at Labuan Airport have been disrupted after its runway was temporarily closed following the discovery of several unexploded bombs nearby on Friday evening.

The ordnance was found outside the perimeter fence of the Royal Malaysian Air Force base, approximately 150 metres from the airport runway.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued. Safety inspections and risk assessments are currently being carried out by the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of flight operations.

The temporary closure has caused significant disruption to flight schedules, leading to delays, diversions and changes to inbound and outbound services at Labuan.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad has advised affected passengers to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates before travelling to the airport.

Operations are expected to resume once inspections are completed and the runway is declared safe for use. Further updates will be provided in due course.
