KOTA BELUD: Sept 25, 2026 — A total of 507 land titles covering 694.92 acres were handed over to residents of nine villages in the Kadamaian area today.
Deputy Chief Minister III, who is also Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the handover was carried out under the Sabah State Land Special Services Programme (PANTAS).
“Land titles provide certainty and official recognition of the people’s ownership rights. These documents are important to protect family interests, reduce disputes and ensure land ownership can be passed on more clearly to future generations.”
Kampung Tambatuan received the highest number with 117 titles covering 256.46 acres, followed by Kampung Kiau Bersatu with 98 titles covering 132.49 acres and Kampung Kiau Nuluh with 69 titles covering 67.05 acres.
Ewon said that as of June 2025, 70,436 native land lots covering a total area of 488,705 acres had been surveyed under PANTAS, involving a Federal Government allocation of RM251.34 million.
At the same event, 30 recipients received cash aid under the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (SYUKUR) programme for the third phase.
The programme provides RM200 in monthly aid to the poor and hardcore poor to ease the burden of living costs.
For 2026, SYUKUR involves 140,000 recipients across Sabah, including 7,750 heads of households in the Kota Belud parliamentary constituency and 1,816 recipients in the Kadamaian state constituency.
“I hope this aid can be used as best as possible to meet family needs and provide some relief to the recipients.”
Ewon said recipients who have not yet received the cash payment can make claims at nearby Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC) branches from early October 2026.
