KOTA KINABALU: Aug 14, 2026 – A total of 194,265 passengers were recorded using the BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu stop-and-go bus service from its launch on April 1 up to Aug 10.
The figure was recorded through the two initial routes, S01 and S05, before the BAS.MY service was expanded to eight routes starting Aug 11.
The BAS.MY Kota Kinabalu service is provided under the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme with an allocation of RM17.6 million per year, or RM88 million over a five-year period.
A total of 48 new buses have been deployed to connect KK Sentral and Pekan Menggatal via the eight routes.
The service operates daily from 5.30am to 11pm, with frequencies ranging between 15 and 30 minutes.
BAS.MY also provides free concession cards for students, persons with disabilities (OKU) and senior citizens, with 960 registrations recorded so far.
