KOTA KINABALU: Sept 1, 2026 – A total of 15 students from Keningau Vocational College (KV Keningau) have received RM45,000 in funding through the Fun(d) for Life programme, organised by Arus Academy and FWD Insurance at Likas Square Apartment Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, on Aug 22, after successfully implementing community financial literacy projects.

Each student received RM3,000 as a result of their success in carrying out financial literacy awareness campaigns within their respective communities.

KV Keningau Director, Lumang Anak Lang, said the achievement demonstrates the students’ ability to lead and execute projects that have a meaningful impact on society.

“I am extremely proud of the students’ accomplishments in executing high-impact community projects and demonstrating leadership qualities that are truly commendable,” he said.

He added that exposure to financial literacy is crucial in helping young people manage their finances wisely and plan for the future in a more structured manner.

Prior to implementing their projects, the students attended a three-day training camp in May, which covered expenditure management, savings habits, and investment strategies.

Through the programme, each student also received a micro-grant of RM300 to carry out financial literacy campaigns through activities such as talks, webinars, quizzes, and educational games.

A total of 42 other higher education institution students from the Sabah and Labuan zone also received funding under the same programme.
