BEAUFORT: The influence of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) in the southwest coastal region of Sabah continues to strengthen, following the recent entry of 152 grassroots leaders and residents from Menumbok, Beaufort and Kuala Penyu into the party.

The new members are expected to inject fresh energy and momentum into Star’s expanding base.

They come from diverse political backgrounds, including former key figures of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), UMNO, and Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan).

Their entry ceremony was witnessed by Beaufort parliamentary coordinator Jin Tze Vun, with Beaufort Division chairman Aliapa Osman and Kuala Penyu Division chairman Jonas also present to show their support—underscoring the party’s rapid grassroots expansion across the region.

A spokesperson for the new members said their decision to join STAR stemmed from a firm belief in the party’s core “Sabah First” ideology.

“We have long been rooted in our communities and understand that the people’s wellbeing is the foundation of politics. The fair, transparent, and unified political culture promoted by Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku aligns perfectly with our sincere mission to serve the people. We believe that by joining Star, we can truly bring prosperity to the people of Sabah,” the spokesperson said.

They added that only through uniting all available strengths and breaking down entrenched partisan barriers can Sabah achieve genuine autonomy, unity, and prosperity.

In a statement, Star extended its warmest welcome to the 152 new members, emphasizing that their participation demonstrates the party’s inclusivity and cross-party appeal.

It said their decision to join Star reflects not only the party’s growing appeal but also the public’s confidence in the party’s vision for Sabah’s future development.

“The entry of grassroots leaders from various political backgrounds highlights our strong ability to unite diverse voices and reflects the urgent desire of Sabahans for change and stability. Their participation is the best affirmation of our ideals and a powerful boost for our future development,” the statement read.

Star reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence, listening closely to the voices of the people, and encouraging wider and deeper political participation across Sabah.

“We sincerely invite more visionary individuals to join our cause and work together to build a stronger, more united and more prosperous Sabah,” the party concluded.
