PENAMPANG: Warisan’s candidate for the N.25 Kapayan state seat, lawyer Chin Tek Ming urged Sabahans to reject divisive politics and stand united as a multicultural and multi-religious society.

He called on voters to rally behind Warisan in the state election this Saturday (Nov 29) to strengthen the party’s mandate and bargaining power in championing Sabah’s rights, particularly the 40% net revenue entitlement.

Chin said the decision by DAP lawmakers — as part of the Pakatan Harapan coalition — to withdraw the appeal involving Sabah’s 40% revenue claim had revealed the “true colours” of certain Peninsula-based parties, proving that Sabah’s rights should not be entrusted to them.

“The real struggle for Sabah lies in whether we can unite and work together for a clean and prosperous state,” he said during his walkabout to meet voters.

He echoed Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s remarks that when Sabahans unite under Warisan and hand in hand with the people of Sabah, we would be able to create history together and reclaim the state’s rightful 40% net revenue entitlement which has been long overdue.

“This revenue is critical for Sabah’s future development. We need these funds to advance the state, eradicate poverty, create economic opportunities for SMEs, and generate employment for our youth.”

Chin also stressed that Sabah is at a historic crossroads, and voters must reject divisive racial politics to jointly build the state’s future.

“Warisan’s manifesto is not merely about winning an election. It is a mission to shape the Sabah we aspire to,” he said.

He added that the party is committed to stamping out corruption at all levels of government, ensuring that every ringgit is used transparently and responsibly.

“This is the foundation of a prosperous Sabah,” he said.
