KOTA KINABALU: July 20, 2026 — The Sabah government has tabled the Supplementary Supply Bill 2026, seeking an additional allocation of RM1.6126 billion to cover 53 expenditure heads until the end of the year.

Deputy Chief Minister II cum Sabah Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, said the additional allocation is necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the state government’s administration until the end of 2026.

He said this when tabling the Supplementary Supply Bill 2026 at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly today.

According to Masidi, the additional allocation covers six main expenditure categories: statutory fund contributions (RM856 million), operating expenditure (RM278 million), investment (RM210 million), administrative expenditure (RM162 million), domestic grants (RM93 million) and special allocation (RM13 million).

“All these supplementary estimates are essential to facilitate the administrative operations of the Sabah Government until the end of 2026,” he said.

Of the total, RM856 million or 53 per cent is allocated for contributions to statutory funds, which do not involve cash flow but rather accounting adjustments (book transfers) to meet financial legal requirements.

He said RM700 million of that amount is channelled to the Development Fund to reduce the Development Account deficit, RM90 million to the Statutory Trust Fund for road and bridge maintenance across Sabah, and RM66 million to the State Government Special Trust Fund.

Masidi said the additional allocation also enables the government to continue various development programmes, infrastructure maintenance, educational assistance, public welfare initiatives, and the operations of ministries and departments until the end of the year.
