KUDAT: July 6, 2026 – The body of an adult man was found floating in the vicinity of the New Angkasa Fish Jetty here at around 10.50am on Sunday, after police received a public report regarding the discovery.
Kudat district police chief Supt Mohd Haris Haji Ibrahim said a team of officers and personnel from the Kudat District Police Headquarters (IPD) together with the Kudat Marine Police Force rushed to the scene upon receiving the information.
“Initial investigations indicate that the victim is an adult male, believed to be in his 30s. His identity has yet to be confirmed as no identification documents were found on the body.
“The body has been sent to Kudat Hospital for further action, while the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR),” he said in a media statement.
He said police are currently working to identify the victim and have urged members of the public with any information regarding the victim or missing family members to come forward to assist with the investigation.
“Those with information can contact the Kudat District Police Headquarters or the investigating officer, Insp Ganesh A/L Arumugam, at 014-9052819,” he added.
Police have advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information about the incident, as this could interfere with the ongoing investigation.
